This year’s summer presentation, the major show of the season, is dedicated to Roy Lichtenstein. In conjunction with this exhibition the KUB will be publishing a large, opulent catalogue in collaboration with Jack Cowart and the Roy Lichtenstein Foundation.

Renowned German and American writers active in the field of Pop Art will contribute texts on the main subjects of the exhibition: the artist’s early b/w works of the sixties, the woman as motif in his paintings from the sixties, seventies, and eighties, and his interiors. Short feature articles will address such tangents as the parody or interior design in Lichtenstein’s work, illuminating these interesting topics from a current perspective. All the works in the exhibition will be reproduced in large format, and in some cases as high-quality, fold-out color illustrations. The publication will be rounded off with portrait and studio photographs by Roy Lichtenstein, some of which have never been published before. Finally, a biography and bibliography related specifically to the themes and the works series of this exhibition will make this bilingual catalogue a standard work on Roy Lichtenstein.
